After a B-double rollover on the Hume Highway last night traffic remains heavy as trucks and other vehicles are diverted northbound through Comur Street, Yass.

Just before 9pm yesterday, emergency services were called to the Hume Highway near Yass Valley Way, following reports of a truck crash.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe a B-double travelling in a northerly direction rolled, spilling its cargo of paint and thinners onto the road.Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service attended, with Hazmat crews working to clean up the materials from the road.The male driver was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries, before being taken to Canberra Hospital.Officers attached to The Hume Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the crash is urged to call Yass Police on 6226 9399.Diversions are in place, with the northbound lane expected to be closed for the majority of the day.Motorists are advised to find an alternate route ad visit www.livetraffic.com for updates before travelling.
