With the imminent finalisation of the masterplan, the Bookham Community Association held a fundraiser last Friday night (28th) to raise funds for its administration.
Quiz Master Esme Armour posed an endless stream of tricky questions. Answers were vetted by Esmay’s husband Ian and son Ross with Alan Ticehurst’s family table scoring the most correct answers.
Tegan Morris did a sterling job energising the crowd in the auction for the 4 packages up for grabs. The prizes included donations from many local businesses including Yazzbar, Olleyville, Gregory McCarthy, The Globe Inn, Yass Outdoor Power Centre, Delta, Home Hardware and Merchant Campbell. Peter Southwell’s finely handcrafted timber bowl was a popular auction item.
Other donors included Parlour J, Jugiong and Cafe on Queen, Binalong as well as Cabin 325, Wrapped in Sunshine, Barney’s Cafe, The Old Bookham Church.
Bookham Community Association committee members Joseph Germano, Pam Hazel and Helena Painting also generously contributed.
Not only was it a really fun night with about 90 locals tightly packed into the Bookham Memorial Hall, but more than $5000.00 was also made towards the implementation of the Masterplan with the aim to transform the village into a healthy hub on the highway.
