A man had his hand completely severed in a workplace accident at Bango Wind Farm CWP Renewables site on Lachlan Valley Way last Thursday the 4th of February.
SafeWork NSW has confirmed its investigators have visited the site.
“SafeWork NSW is investigating an incident at Bango Windfarm where a man’s hand was amputated while working on machinery. SafeWork’s investigation is ongoing and further comment is not available at this time,” a spokesperson advised.
NSW Ambulance Service has confirmed three ambulance units were dispatched by road including the local Inspector from Yass along with the Toll helicopter in the response to the accident involving a man in his thirties.
Police were also on site.
“Police attended along with NSW Ambulance, and intensive care paramedics and a doctor on the helicopter,” said Acting Inspector Dave Cowell. The investigation now lies with SafeWork NSW and not Police.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance stated the man was lifted directly to Royal Northshore Hospital.
CWP Renewables has not responded to requests for a statement from management.
