Youth Week is a week-long celebration, which runs in early April each year, organised by young people for young people across NSW.

Following the success of the NSW Youth Week program, Youth Week became a national event in 2000.

If you’re aged between 12- 24 Youth Week is an opportunity to attend live events, meet new people, take part in competitions and showcase your talent.

The community has a large range of activities to keep everyone entertained this year.

From movies to book-making workshops, lawn bowls and more there’s plenty to do this Youth Week, which also coincides with the school holidays.

All events are free and don’t require prior booking except for next Tuesday’s Lawn Bowls workshop run by the National Lawn Bowl Association.

The local youth are encouraged to get out and mix with other youth or come and sit down and just watch a movie.

The Council is also looking for members to join the Youth Council aged be- tween 12-24. The Youth Council provide insight on local social activities, mental health, health and well-being in addition to community projects like the Main Street Master Plan.

If you would like to make a suggestion about the Youth Week activities, add your event to the Council’s list, or enquire about Youth Council through 02 6226 1477 or council@yass.nsw.gov.au.
