This week we kick off our first Sixty Second Swirl with this classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Shaw Wines, 2017. The nose is loaded with blackcurrants and blueberries with a hint of mulberry leaf. The palate is rich with ripe dark berry fruits with a balanced lick of tannin. Top stuff this! Enjoy this with a chargrilled premium cut of beef—$ 34 at the cellar door.

The Times dropped in to share the good news with the Cellar door team this week. The visit was a refreshing reminder of the wealth of premium experiences on hand right here in our backyard.

Shaw Wines Estate is a feast for the eye as well as the palate. Sculptures provide interest wherever you look, vines are budding, and foxgloves provide a quaint contrast to the stunning architecture. Heritage buildings are lovingly cared for, and rose gardens are about to burst into flower.

The sit-down tastings were in full swing and a friendly face greeted our Time reporter at the door “For Yass Valley and Canberrans we’re right on your doorstep, it’s the perfect time to visit,” enthused Karen Shaw, Business Development Manager at Shaw Estate.

The Times also asked Ms Shaw what main course meat she would pair the wine with, “Honestly, a nice piece of local Yass Valley lamb, anything from Binalong.”

A good read about a stellar drop! Karen Shaw and Evelyn Everson were all smiles when reading the news Shaw Wines is Yass Valley Times Sixty Second Swirl Wine Of The Week
